This Privacy Policy explains how Xpensight collects, uses, and protects your information.

Information we collect

  • Account information such as your email address when you sign in or create an account.
  • Receipt images and receipt metadata (merchant, date, amount, categories) when you scan or upload receipts.
  • Usage data such as app interactions and device details used to keep the service reliable.

How we use your information

  • Provide and improve expense tracking, receipt scanning, and insights.
  • Sync receipts you choose to upload to Google Drive.
  • Communicate important service updates and support responses.

Google Drive usage

“Xpensight only stores receipt files created by the user in their own Google Drive.”

You control the Google Drive connection and can revoke Xpensight’s access at any time in your Google account settings. If access is revoked, Xpensight will no longer upload or read receipts from your Drive.

Where data is stored

  • Xpensight’s database stores your account details and receipt metadata needed to power your dashboard and insights.
  • Receipt files you upload are stored in your own Google Drive, not on Xpensight’s servers.

Data sharing and sales

We do not sell personal data.

We only share data with service providers necessary to operate Xpensight (for example, Google Drive when you enable the integration) and when required by law.

Data retention and deletion

You can delete receipts or transactions at any time in the app. If you delete a receipt from Google Drive, it is removed from your Drive and no longer accessible there.

We retain account data and receipt metadata only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page and revise the effective date above.
